勇敢

很小的时候老师叫告诉我们,我们伟大的祖国有个很大的特点就是人多资源少。这么说可能不恰当,准确的说是资源本身并不少,但人多了后相对资源就少了。家底毕竟是有限,吃的人多了肯定就不够了。

没有数过中国的音乐院校有多少个,但估计年复一年算下来了,应该人数也不少。那么多的学生毕业后吃什么呢,我想这肯定也是个问题,特别是教育产业化之后,问题一定会更加突现。隔行如隔山,这只是我不付责任的猜测,但我最近惊奇的发现,在这么多层次不算高的选秀节目中,竟然有许多重复的面孔,我指的是音乐学院毕业的学生。他们反复的参加能让他们获得机会娱乐选秀。

 从节目本身来说,娱乐选秀本身并没有问题。这是媒体商业化之后必然趋势,媒体娱乐大众,因为大众的综合购买力还是很诱惑人的,媒体没有必要都做成教育电视台。这是超女之类节目的本质,副产品就是巨大的轰动效应,使得许多带着梦想的年轻人参与进来,所谓愿打愿挨。所以我们的严肃人士没必要从音乐或者其他行业规则来批判媒体商业化的选择,这是两回事,就像对牛弹琴。

 话扯远了,我想说的是一种无奈的勇气。其实我挺佩服那些反复参加超女的超级女声。在众目睽睽中,一遍又一遍的冲击着自己的梦想。或许他们也知道自己只是别人棋盘里的一颗棋子,只要有必要,这颗棋子随时可以被拿掉,分文不值。

 这是种无奈的选择,我开头说过,我们身处在一个资源少人口多的国家,梦想每个人都有,但能实现梦想的人毕竟很少。能够无数次的去为实现自己的梦想奋斗,不成功都很悲壮,这难道不值得我们佩服吗。很难想像,一个看上去很时髦的女青年,9次站在pk台上,承受着别人的玩弄,是需要多大的勇气。这一切,只是为了自己的梦想。我自己也曾暗地里想像,如果换做我,我做不到。

 这到不是矜持,人只要往往到了困境中,才会爆发。年轻人需要机会,我想谁都想成为茅侃侃这样。如果成不了呢,我们是选择退却还是一如既往呢?!今天的社会是个不同情弱者的社会,而年轻人在残酷的社会面前绝对是弱者,是不是我们就不同情年轻人了呢?我想,从某种意义上说是,我们应该彻底的击败自己,把自己放在困境里,去向往我们的梦想,才会有9pk的勇气,才会有站着倒下的悲壮。

 放轻松点,坦白的说,我们要的并不是倒下的悲壮,虽然能这样也并非是件容易的事。时间还有的是,我们需要坚持自己的梦想,并且实现自己梦想的勇气。放轻松点,我们需要的是笑着跟自己说,follow me, let`s go!

美人计

苏河艺术(北京)——15空间,将于7月29日举办“三十六计”系列当代艺术展中的第二回展:“美人计(广播体操)——石玩玩(影像)”。
 
一、展览概念简述:
三十六计是中国古代军事中对面临的问题提出对应之策的方法集。但当它作为博弈的一种基本形式时,则广泛存在于我们所面临的各种情境之中。三十六计作为一个出发点,提供给艺术家们可能是一种作品的方法,也可能是社会问题与情境的手段与状态,也可能是一个故事的主题。作为一个开放的平台,艺术家在此出谋划策,运用视觉的方式,对社会、政治、制度、文化、自己和他人施展计中计。
 
二、展览基本架构:
1、三十六位艺术家每人从三十六计中挑选一计。
2、定期依次展出一个艺术家的一个作品。
3、作品形式不限(网络,行为,装置,录像,平面等)
4、展示空间为15m2-30m2(作品在室外实现也可以)。

Creek Art(Beijing)—15 Space will organize Shi Wanwan’s exhibition “Beauty trap stratagem-Broadcast Gymnastics” (Video) on  July 29, 2006, which is the second one of the contemporary art exhibition series “Thirty-Six Strategies”.
 
一、Basic Statement on the Concept of the Exhibition:
The thirty-six strategies is a Chinese collection of tactics people used to solve problems in military affairs in the old days. As a form of the Game Theory, it is wildly found in every situation in our daily lives. So as the source of ideas, the thirty-six strategies may provide artists a method to create their works, a means and a state of mind to deal with social problems, or a theme of a story. Using the exhibition of thirty-six strategies as an open platform, by means of visual effect, artists here will give counsels to respond various strategies in society, politics, system, culture, themselves and others.
 
二、Basic Framework of the Exhibition
1、36 artists, everyone picks one stratagem from the Thirty Six Strategies
2、Each artist will exhibit one of his/her work on due day
3、No limit to the form of the artwork(network, performance, installation, video, picture, painting)
4、The exhibition space is more or less 15m2-30m2(outdoor work is also available)

在梅边

在梅边

 

GOOGLE上搜索“在梅边”,181,000结果里面几乎全是偶像派歌手王力宏的《在梅边》。似乎与汤显祖无关。偶像的力量是无穷的,一个王力宏可以迅速让大家知道对本身年轻人毫无吸引力的古典文学。这可以证明一点,这可能还真跟汤显祖无关,有关系的是王力宏,有魅力的也不是真正的“在梅边”。

 

不要责怪年轻人不热爱文化,否则王力宏也不会发行这样的单曲。在这里我到觉得恰恰体现了年轻人可爱的地方,年轻人有年轻人自己理解文化的方式。用RAP去体验古典文学,用自己的方式去传承对艺术的理解。

 

当下处在一个飞速发展的时代中,在人类文明不断的进化中,新的文化现象总是在不段的涌现,但不管哪种文化思潮,基本上都有一个共同特征,起到关键推动作用的总是年轻人,这也是为什么明天的大师一定在今天的年轻人中产生的原因。

 

〈在梅边〉这个展览只是借用了这样一个文化现象向大家阐释在当代艺术中,年轻的艺术家无畏的对传统禁锢尝试性的突破,就向本身歌词里的:“在梅边 不知爱何时出现 在现实生活还是只能在梦里面  
牡丹亭描述的浪漫不可思议 尤其是对我们这种新新人类
  
尤其是对我们 生活太忙乱 没有时间吃饭 上网到眼睛酸
  
科技发达好有效率 而生活的节奏比明朝的快速一万倍

怎样才能够满足 小朋友哪有时间 坐在那里看牡丹亭

花十九个小时唱到 所有观众老了”。

 

如果对人类传统的精神没有新的阐释与发展,可能也从侧面证明了其生命力的脆弱。优秀的思维遗产是不需要保护的,在时代潮流中,顽强的生命力会得到延续。这从另外一个方面接应了年轻人的尝试。我们年轻的艺术家们需要鼓励,本次展览中的所有年轻艺术家,都在积极的思考自己的作品中新的可能性,不管可能性会怎样,我们需要的正是这种希望,有可能就有希望,希望不会磨灭。

好看的世界杯在喧闹中结束,莫名其妙中国人狂热的很.不就是足球嘛,好看就行.只不过注意到的往往是故事性,而不是技术性(黄健翔语).斯科拉里带着他的葡萄牙打进了四强,一度跌跌撞撞不被人看好,真是奇了怪了,神奇教练果然神奇.网上有篇文章不知是真是假,反正中国人肯定喜欢,斯科拉里手举<孙子兵法>,这就是秘密.一般人他还不告诉.

 

计中计,谋中谋,似乎是中国人的长项,36计估计全国人民都知道,只不过不知道到底是哪几计.不过这不重要呀,我就不信斯科拉里真知道孙子他老人家到底说的是什么,照样拿下猖狂的英格兰.这最起码证明了一点,名字比内容管用.当然宣传用.

 

36计我觉得怎么着都有可能是个托词,艺术发展到今天,似乎玩点小伎俩大家都心照不宣,只不过别玩过火,人民的眼睛还是雪亮的.托词跟伎俩肯定不可以成为目的,要不然大家都回家编诡计去了,明白了这点,下面的事情可能就会好说点了.大家去看一个展览,无非想看个新鲜,西瓜光个大个小没用,宣传用还行,不好吃那就白搭.展览也一样,最主要看里面有没有让人眼睛一亮的东西,整天去看无聊的特像作品的作品,那多没劲呀,反正我觉得没劲.

 

苏河北京艺术空间有个不大的地方,也就15平米,让大伙去做点东西.现在的艺术家都喜欢大空间,大作品,似乎这样做才能显魄力.明白的人自然明白,好作品不是比个大.现在就15平米,我们聪明的艺术家还能不能做有想象力的作品呢.

 

谈到艺术的问题,大家都觉得挺吓人的.问题是很多,可很多时候我们似乎都还在解决许多基本问题.是不是拿有意思的材料堆起来就是个有意思的作品,是不是越大个的作品才有感觉,是不是没有材料费大家就都做不了作品,也是不是只有著名艺术家才能做出著名作品.36计这个小小的把戏其实真正是想把这些个问题慢慢理清楚.有时候做些这样的工作还是挺重要的.

 

当然,好的展览技术性跟故事性都有,可更多的时候,我们看到许多大个的作品放在展厅里挺吓人的,可怎么看怎么没意思.大家图个热闹也就行了.

 

中国的当代艺术热闹了也好长时间了,就像好看的世界杯.关键是我们要故事性还是技术性.足球不只是花边新闻,艺术也不只是花拳绣腿.嚷的再凶没有新的塌实的东西出来,就像个大不好吃的西瓜,一定歇菜.这样说来就挺吓人的了.36计也不是好莱钨的超人,解决不了这么多的问题,但我们更希望的是,大家别看个明白揣着糊涂.我们的问题在哪,只能我们自己去解决.艺术的问题只有艺术家去解决,这个世界没有救世主.

回北京了

9号到北京,刚刚好赶上世界杯.刚出机场那一瞬间,我突然第一次感觉北京真好.
 
出去一周不到时间,走访了3个城市将近70个年轻艺术家,年龄跟我相仿的艺术家.有一些不错的艺术家,一看将来就是能走的不错的.但总的来说问题还是很大,我不知道这是不是我要担心的,艺术本来就是个人自己的事情呀.

DIFFERENT YOUTH, SAME ART

 

Searching for new talents is one of the ways to enhance the metabolism in Fine Art.

The development of contemporary art until today, seems like most of the attention goes towards the focuses on young emerging artists, as if they are the ones to bear the mission for creating a new art phenomenon. Frankly speaking, this kind of expectation is truly, quite unfair. They have no reason to shoulder this responsibility, even if they have such abilities and ideas, because the evolution of art should be a joint effort by all artists, and not be a burden for progressive young talents.

However, history always modifies itself quietly and this kind of expectations certainly will not resolve the problem.

 

We have found a group of young people this time, full of vigor and vitality in art.

They have no similar style, and it makes no sense to group them together.

Nevertheless, what we have seen is only the superficial side of presentations,

what we yet have to discover, is their characters behind - a kind of spirit,

a reason without reason,  an awareness not to undertake responsibility.

I wonder if this is the beginning of a new possibility?

 

The artwork of HE Jia discloses a youthful characteristic, with bright colors and lively modeling, clearly expresses the playful spirit of a new generation artist without obligation. Behind the playful spirit, the artist’s thoughts have not been disguised and should not be referred merely as a simple animation.

Just like the HE Jia himself, do not regard his artwork as an animation.

Undoubtedly, the topic of animation is only a discussion on form, what we need is the content behind the form. Reconsidering the obligation at the back of a colorful canvas, there is always a dissimilar heaviness behind the youth.

 

Similarly, LAN Yi and HE Chi borrowed the traditional symbols to graft with contemporary style.

HE Chi directly manipulates the traditional method and symbols to tell the people that nowadays Chairman Mao is still fighting along with us.  The message is when modernity has become the major issue. Can Chairman Mao tell us whether our thinking has ended?

New generation artists continuously use traditional techniques to perform traditional contents which, as a matter of fact is using the most direct method to make an illogical joke. But Illogicality is a serious thought. Comparatively, LAN Yi has used an implicit way on the content to express the same demand as He Chi, which is never to have expectation on the youngsters, as they will always give you different answers.

 

The art works of WEI Bingqiang expresses a strong sense of freedom and unconventional thoughts. The wild and confident brushstrokes and weird human modeling is simply more than expressionism. Looking at history, Expressionism is always a formidable kind of self – manifestation and self confidence is where it truly comes. It is difficult to imagine that there is such a strong self assurance in a fresh Fine Art graduate like WEI Bingqiang .  The uncover self-confidence is exactly the characteristic of youthfulness. Of course, this is just the beginning.

 

Behind the monumental canvas of LIN Tianlu, there is an expression of dilemma, a difficult position between the smooth concrete-like surface and prominent faces.

This is not a depression but a great source of power and history is like an enormous piece of concrete stone, there will be resilience when exerted to certain degree of pressure.

Just like the strong sensation that art transmits. It is also like an uncovered ambition.

New power will erupt when there is great pressure behind.

 

CHEN Jie seems to be a standard Southerner Chinese, who is exquisite, tactful and calm. The images on the canvas are markings from our memory, constantly touches our soul.

A “death rock and roll” painting by an artist that does not seem eccentric from any perspectives, reveals more charm and taste.

We are unsure about the eccentricity behind, but one thing for sure, the imaginations become richer from the non-imagination. This is the charm of contemporary arts, more possibilities are emitted from non-imagination.

 

The styles of these young artists are different but from them we see more possibilities. Style and painting technique are merely simple presentation, but the thinking of the artists and their cultural background is more worthy of our investigation. 

There will be a great master from them, because we have seen more than one new style. Let us relax, and enjoy more of the young spirits which is always infatuating.
